TEMPLE, TEXAS (March 21, 2025) — The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) announced that the Temple EDC has once again been accredited as 1 of 85 economic development organizations around the world to have been accredited by IEDC as an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO). Temple EDC first earned this accreditation in November of 2012 and has successfully maintained that accreditation ever since.
“The Temple EDC displays the professionalism, commitment, and technical expertise that is deserving of this honor,” said IEDC President and CEO Nathan Ohle.
“We are thrilled that an international organization like IEDC has continued to see the quality of work being done by Temple EDC,” Temple EDC President & CEO Adrian Cannady said.
The AEDO program is a comprehensive peer review process that measures economic development organizations against commonly held standards in the profession. The program consists of two phases: a documentation review and an onsite visit. Each of these phases evaluates information about the structure, organization, funding, programming, and staff of the candidate economic development organization.
“One of the things that committee members were most impressed with is how straightforward our Strategic Plan is,” Cannady said. “We are committed to retaining, attracting, and supporting the people and businesses that improve the quality of life in Temple, and everything we do is strategically focused on accomplishing those goals.”
Earning AEDO accreditation is a signal to the Temple community and prospective businesses that the Temple EDC has attained and maintained a level excellence, making it worthy of trust and investment.
Maintenance of the AEDO status requires reaccreditation every three years through the same documentation submission and/or onsite visits by a team of the AEDO subcommittee.
The International Economic Development Council is the largest membership association serving economic and community development professionals in the world. With over 5,000 members nationwide and abroad, IEDC offers economic development professions a source of information and professional development.
