Scott Connell joined the Temple Economic Development Corporation as Vice President in December 2018. Scott spent the past three decades in the economic development industry, helping communities in Texas and North Carolina recruit and retain companies through innovative and aggressive strategies. Most recently Scott led the economic development staff at the City of Fort Worth and previously served in various economic development leadership roles in Texas at Irving, Sherman, Waco, Belton, Victoria, and Yoakum. Scott has been instrumental in assisting companies to invest more than $4 billion and create 16,500 jobs in the communities he served. Scott has served in various leadership roles over the years including on the Board of Directors for the Texas Economic Development Council and as Chair of the DFW Marketing Team. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin. He has one son, Paten. In his free time, Scott enjoys traveling, college sports, gardening, and crossword puzzles.
