Recognizing Temple as a hotbed for health and life sciences, Everest Rehabilitation Hospitals has capitalized on the skills and education of Central Texas talent to deliver first-rate care.

In 2019, Dallas-based Everest Rehabilitation Hospitals, LLC opened a cutting-edge rehabilitation hospital in Temple, joining a robust health and life sciences sector that employs more than 40% of Temple’s workforce. The new $23 million, 36-bed inpatient hospital in Temple included 120 new jobs.

The company is leading the next generation of customized care, helping patients heal from brain injuries, strokes, amputations and more in a setting that mimics home or an upscale hotel more than a standard hospital.

In addition to tapping into local talent and low business costs, Everest earned a cash grant for infrastructure assistance from the Temple EDC.

The 41,000-square-foot facility serves hospitals and patients in Temple, Killeen, Harker Heights, Fort Hood and the surrounding Central Texas area.

Everest is embedded in the Temple Medical and Educational District (TMED), a regional nucleus for education and medical activities established in 2009 to promote future development around existing industry assets. In addition to Everest, TMED is also home to the only children’s hospital between Dallas and Austin, the largest VA medical consortium in Texas and more. TMED is part of a 360-acre master-planned development that will be complemented by residential, retail, office, and entertainment venues.
