FORT WORTH, TEXAS, (July 22, 2013) — The Temple Economic Development Corporation (Temple EDC) has renewed its contract with Fort Worth-based Buxton to help plan and execute the city’s retail expansion strategy. Buxton’s retail expertise and customer analytics capabilities have been successfully used to help Temple identify and recruit retailers for the area, including PetSmart, OfficeMax and Sally Beauty Supply.
“We chose to continue our partnership with Buxton because of the valuable contribution their services have made to our retail recruitment strategy,” said Charley Ayres, vice president of the Temple EDC. “Buxton provides the tools necessary to create a targeted and effective retail recruitment strategy for our City. We look forward to building on our past success and expanding the retail offerings our residents and visitors enjoy.”
With a population of around 70,000 people and a trade area of over 300,000 people, Temple EDC seeks to understand the area retail economic condition and what makes Temple’s trade area market distinctive and valuable from a retailer’s viewpoint.
“We are excited to continue working with the Temple EDC,” said Lisa Hill, vice president of Buxton. “We’ll provide city leaders with the information they need to expand retail offerings in a way that meets the needs and desires of Temple residents.”
As a Buxton client, Temple has access to SCOUT®, Buxton’s proprietary web-based real estate platform, giving city leaders data and information at their fingertips to analyze different areas of the City.
Buxton has worked with more than 600 cities nationwide to implement retail development strategies. Client cities include Frisco, TX; Kingsport, TN; Orlando, FL and many more.
