TEMPLE, TX (May 27, 2014) – Wilsonart, a leading manufacturer of decorative surfaces, will break ground on its new U.S. headquarters in Temple tomorrow. The new building, scheduled for completion in spring 2015, will consolidate key business units into a single, state-of-the-art office space, located on the Main Campus.
The headquarters building – to be called the Wilson Center, in honor of company founder Ralph Wilson will rise next to the company’s primary manufacturing facility. Other new construction on the main Wilsonart campus will include a Learning Center – a shared space that will accommodate employee meetings and training events, as well as provide a place for meetings.
The public is invited to the 10 a.m. groundbreaking, which will include the unveiling of design plans for the projects. Those designs include innovative architectural features, including a wealth of windows to capture natural light and an expansive gallery space in the 31,500-square-foot Wilson Center.
The new building will be designed and constructed to meet “Silver LEED” standards established by the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is the council’s rating system for designing, constructing and operating the world’s greenest, most energy-efficient and high-performing buildings.
“Our new workspaces will cultivate community, foster transparency, inspire innovation, embody service, and spark change,” said Kris Manos, President of Wilsonart Americas.
The Wilson Center will include offices for the company’s leadership team, as well as consolidate business units, including sales, marketing and finance.
